3 - DIRECT-TO62Direct-to ShortcutsShortcutsShortcuts are available when using the direct-tokey, allowing you to bypass the use of the small andlarge right knobs to enter the destination waypoint’sidentifier. A direct-to can be performed from any pagedisplaying a single waypoint identifier (such as theWPT pages for airports and navaids) by simply press-ing direct-to and ENT. For pages that display a list ofwaypoints (e.g., the Nearest Airport Page), you musthighlight the desired waypoint with the cursor beforepressing the direct-to key.When a single waypoint is displayedon-screen, select it as your destination bypressing direct-to. When a list of waypoints isdisplayed, press the small right knob to dis-play a cursor, highlight the desired waypoint,then press direct-to.To select an on-screen waypoint as a direct-todestination:1. If a single airport, navaid or user waypoint isdisplayed on-screen, press direct-to, then pressENT twice.2. If a list of waypoints is displayed on-screen, pressthe small right knob to activate the cursor, turnthe large right knob to highlight the desiredwaypoint, then press direct-to followed byENT twice.Direct-to destinations may also be selected fromthe Map Page by panning to the desired destinationlocation and pressing direct-to and ENT (twice). If noairport, navaid or user waypoint exists at the desiredlocation, a waypoint named “+MAP” is automaticallycreated at the location of the panning pointer.To select a direct-to destination from the mappage:1. From the Map Page, press the small rightknob to display a panning pointer.2. Turn the small and large right knobs to placethe panning pointer at the desired destinationlocation.Use the panning pointer to select your desti-nation directly from the map.3. If the panning pointer is placed on an existingairport, navaid or user waypoint, the waypointname is highlighted. Press direct-to and ENTtwice to navigate to the waypoint.4. If the panning pointer is placed on an openlocation, press direct-to and ENT twice tocreate a “MAP” waypoint and navigate to it.
