Memory Card and Memory DIMMsThe following procedures cover removal and replacement of the memory card andmemory DIMMs.Before performing these procedures, read “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices” onpage 254.Memory Card Removal1. If you have not already done so, shut down the system as described in “Stoppingthe System” on page 254.2. If you have not already done so, unplug the system power cables from the electricaloutlet.3. If your system is a Model 6C1(rack mount), place the system in the service positionas described in “Placing the Model 6C1 in the Service Position” on page 255.4. If you have not already done so, remove the service access cover as described in“Covers” on page 258.5. Remove the processor and memory card cover as described in “Processor andMemory Card Cover” on page 264.6. The memory card is secured in place with retention latches, one on each end of thecard.
