SCSI BackplaneThe following procedures cover removal and replacement of the SCSI backplane.Removal1. If you have not already done so, shut down the system as described in “Stoppingthe System” on page 254.2. If you have not already done so, unplug the system power cables from theelectrical outlet.3. If your system is a Model 6C1 (rack mount), place the system in the serviceposition as described in “Placing the Model 6C1 in the Service Position” onpage 255.4. If you have not already done so, remove the service access cover as described in“Covers” on page 258.5. Remove the hot-swap drives as described in “Hot-Swap Disk Drives” on page 297.6. Remove the fan assemblies 3 and 4 as described in “Hot-Swap Fan Assembly” onpage 301.7. Remove the processor and memory card cover as described in “Processor andMemory Card Cover” on page 264.8. Remove the CEC cage as described in “CEC Cage” on page 265.9. Remove all cables from the backplane.10. Remove the screws and remove the SCSI repeater card (2) from the backplane.11.
