Troubleshooting and routine maintenance153Cd Put the print sample in front of the drumunit, and find the exact position of thepoor print.e Turn the drum unit gear by hand whilelooking at the surface of the OPCdrum (1).f When you have found the mark on thedrum that matches the print sample,wipe the surface of the OPC drum with adry cotton swab until the dust or glue onthe surface comes off.IMPORTANT• The drum is photosensitive so DO NOTtouch it with your fingers.• DO NOT clean the surface of thephotosensitive drum with a sharp object.• DO NOT use a scrubbing or wiping motionbecause this might damage the drum.g Put the toner cartridge back into thedrum unit until you hear it lock into place.If you put the cartridge in properly, theblue lock lever will lift automatically.h Put the drum unit and toner cartridgeassembly back in the machine.i Close the front cover.j Plug the machine’s power cord back intothe AC power outlet first, and thenreconnect all cables and telephone linecord. Turn on the machine’s powerswitch.1
