2 – Basic operational concepts : About projects and libraries26 TASCAM DM-3200 Owner’s ManualPressing ENTER will reload the last data which wasin the internal memory (the “resume data”), andpressing a cursor key will load the project, ignoringany changes since the last project save.About projects and librariesAs mentioned earlier, the DM-3200 uses projects tostore settings.Projects contain system information, automation androuting information associated with a project, mak-ing it easy to return to a previous state when a projecthas to be conducted over more than one session. When a new project is created, any of the followingdata from a previous project may also be associatedwith it (it is possible to pick and choose from thislist):• System data• Snapshot (scene) data library• EQ setting library• Compressor/expander setting library• Gate library• Either or both of the effect libraries.• Effect setting librariesWithin each project, five libraries, each divided intofour banks, contain the settings for the storableparameters mentioned above. Each of these banks contains 128 “slots” to hold set-tings (numbered from 000 to 127).In addition, the preset bank, stored in the DM-3200’smemory, is available for recall of presets to be usedas starting points for user settings. The effect libraryhas access to two preset banks.Individual slots and banks may be copied betweenprojects after the project has been created.Projects are stored on easily-transportable standardCompact Flash cards, allowing projects to be trackedin a project studio, and mixed and produced in alarger facility, for example.Projects are date-stamped automatically (the DM-3200 contains a battery-backed clock) which helpsyou keep your work organized.Figure 2.21: Project structureProjectSnapshot EQ Comp/Exp Gate EffectSlot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128(x4)Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128(x4)Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128(x4)Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128(x4)Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128Slot 1-128(x4)CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4CF Banks1-4Each library in each project also has accessto the appropriate preset bank (RAM).There are two preset banks for the effects.LibrariesAutomationdataSettingsdata
