4 – Routing & assignment : Channel-to-buss assignmentTASCAM DM-3200 User’s Manual 51Channel-to-buss assignmentYou may have noticed that the channel-to-bussassignment functions are not available from the rout-ing screens.Because this is such a commonly-performed opera-tion, it is most easily performed from the front panel,using dedicated controls, though it is also possible touse the display to view and set these assignments formany modules simultaneously.Assignment using the front panelThis method uses the dedicated assignment keys tothe left of the display:When a module (not a bus module) is selected, anybuss assignment made is shown by the appropriateindicator(s) lighting.Use these assignment keys to assign the module tothe busses (which in turn may be routed to multitrackinputs, etc., using the routing screens described ear-lier in “Output routing” on page 49).It is also possible to assign a module to the stereobuss using the dedicated STEREO key.In addition, a DIRECT key provides the capability ofproducing a direct channel output which can then beused for routing in the ROUTING screens.
