RECOIL STARTER5-8EPOWRREMOVING THE SHEAVE DRUMRemove:• Sheave drumTurn the sheave drum clockwise untilthe spiral spring is free.Removing steps(1) Release the lock.(2) Pull out the starter rope and make ithooked by the cutaway on thesheave drum.(3) Turn the sheave drum clockwise.(4) Take off the starter rope from the starterhandle .(5) Remove bolts , drive plate , drivepawl spring , and sheave drum .NOTE:• Turn the sheave drum so that the cut-away on the outer surface of the sheavedrum faces toward the starter handle.• Pass the starter rope through thecutaway .WARNINGWhen removing the sheave drum, be sureto make it slow and steady to prevent thespiral spring from popping up at you.REMOVING THE SPIRAL SPRINGRemove:• Spiral springWARNINGBe careful so that the spiral spring does notpop out when removing it.
