You can configure how detailedthe information is, how much of it is displayed and how it is accessed.The System Log is primarily intended to be used by your SystemAdministrator and 3Com support personnel to troubleshoot theWebcache.Configuring theSystem LogTo configure the System Log using the Web interface:1 Log in to the Web interface.2 Click Device on the Toolbar.3 Select Diagnostics > Setup System Log in the Navigation Tree. The SetupSystem Log screen is displayed.4 You can choose to save the contents of the System Log onto a singlemanagement station in your network that has syslog analysis tools. This isof particular benefit if you are working with 3Com support personnel.Enter the IP address of the syslog server in the Enter Syslog Server IPAddress field to enable this feature.You must configure your syslog server to receive facility “daemon”messages at severity “info” and higher.5 If you want to record more detailed System Log information, checkEnable Verbose Logging and select either Low, Medium or High.By default, the save System Log information feature is disabled. You mustenable this feature if you want to view the entire contents of the SystemLog on a syslog server. You can only view the last 256 lines of the logusing the View System Log command of the Web interface. However,enabling verbose system logging may affect the performance of theWebcache because of the extra information that it is recording.
