8-7Installing UnixWare and Open UnixUsing UnixWare/Open Unix and the HostAdapterThis section contains useful information on using UnixWare/OpenUnix and your host adapter.Using Tunable ParametersFor UnixWare/Open Unix, some parameters are defined in thefollowing file:/etc/conf/pack.d/adpu320/space.cThese parameters can be tuned for either the adst21 driver or theadpu320 driver. Please refer to the comments in the appropriatespace.c file for a description of these parameters. After modifyingthe space.c file, you must rebuild the kernel then reboot the systemfor the new parameters to take effect. To rebuild the kernel, typethe following, and press Enter after each line:/etc/conf/bin/idbuild -Bcp /etc/conf/cf.d/unix /stand/unixNote: The drivers support Tagged Queuing andReinitialization.Using Multiple Host AdaptersWhen using multiple host adapters, consider the following:■ The host adapter and computer must be configured for multiplehost adapters as explained in the host adapter’s user’s guide.■ To boot from the Ultra320 host adapter, make sure the hostadapter is installed in the lowest PCI slot number. See your hostadapter’s user’s guide.■ UnixWare/Open Unix supports auto-configuration. Whenadding multiple host adapters to an existing UnixWare/OpenUnix system, simply install the board and reboot; the systemautomatically reconfigures and rebuilds the kernel. If you wantto select a host adapter to boot from, simply disable the BIOS onall other host adapters.
