WAN Configuration2-8Local Management User’s GuideWPIM Timeslot Configuration TableThe WPIM Timeslot Configuration table allows the user to configure the way in which theCabletron Systems WAN module uses the T1 line. The configuration table consists of 24 timeslots. Each timeslot must be assigned an Interface number (for example, 002 for an active Interfacenumber or 000 if the timeslot is not used). When an entire T1 line is leased, all 24 timeslots (thefull T1 bandwidth) can be used. If only a fraction of the T1 line is leased, the service providerindicates which timeslots to use.Figure 2-3 displays the T1 Line Configuration with the Timeslot View.Figure 2-3 T1 Line Configuration showing TimeslotTimeslots can be utilized in any way chosen. The HSIM or CyberSWITCH supports TimeDivision Multiplexing (TDM) allowing demultiplexing of circuits (timeslots) within the publicnetwork. For example, if the HSIM or CyberSWITCH has access to a full T1 (24 timeslots), andthe user wants to communicate with two other sites, the configuration might look like the oneshown in Figure 2-4.SAVE WAN INT CONFIG RETURNType: T1WPIM #: 1Mgr Type: [PPP]Max VCs: 024Next IF: 003WAN PHYSICAL CONFIGURATIONT1 Timeslot View:T1 Line Coding:T1 Frame Type:T1 Tx Clock Source:T1 Line Buildout:T1 Loopback:WPIM 1 Timeslot Configuration000 000 000 000 000000 000 00001-0809-1617-24WPIM 1 Line Configuration000 000 000 000 000000 000 000000 000 000 000 000000 000 000275002 Local Management Flash Image Version: 02.xx.xx[WPIM 1]WPIM 1[Active][B8ZS][ESF][Loop-Timing][0 db][None]REMOTE SETUP
