29OSD OperationBlade ConfigurationBlade Servers that are connected to the switches displaybelow the KVM switches in the Sidebar. This section describesaccessing and configuring the blade servers, and associatingthe blades with KVM switch ports. By associating a bladeserver or blade with a port, the servers and blades areintegrated into the Sidebar tree view and appear as devicesconnected to the port.The Blade Configuration page is where the associationsbetween blade servers and ports on the KVM switch getcreated. To access this page, select the blade server or blade,then click the Blade Configuration sub-section tab.For IBM and Dell blade servers, the entire chassis getsassociated with a port, and each blade in the chassis willappear in the tree as a child port of the associated port—asshown by the screenshot of port 08 below.For HP blade servers, associations are made on a blade byblade basis. Each blade is associated with a single port. Toaccess a blade, click on its port entry in the tree.Associating PortsDevice ViewPort association begins by clicking the Blade Configurationsub-section tab in the menu bar. The page comes up inDevice View, listing all of the KVM switch’s ports, and theblade servers (IBM and Dell servers), or individual blades (HPservers) that have been associated with them.To associate a blade server or blade with a port, follow thesteps below.1. Select the port in the main panel.2. Click Associate.3. In the screen that comes up, select the blade server orindividual blade that you want to associate with the selectedport.4. Click Save.After the association completes successfully, the blade iconappears next to the associated port in the Sidebar tree. Toaccess the device running on the blade, click on its entry inthe Sidebar tree.
