Eaton Power Xpert 9395C UPS Installation and Operation Manual 164000821—Rev 06 1CChhaapptteerr 11 IInnttrroodduuccttiioonnThe Eaton® Power Xpert® 9395C uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a true online, continuous-duty,transformerless, double-conversion, solid-state, three-phase system, providing conditioned and uninterruptibleAC power to protect the customer's load from power failures.The Power Xpert 9395C contains a section configured as an integrated system bypass module (ISBM) rated fora maximum of 1100 kVA.The Eaton 9395C online power protection system is used to prevent loss of valuable electronic information,minimize equipment downtime, and minimize the adverse effect on production equipment due to unexpectedpower problems.The Eaton 9395C UPS continually monitors incoming electrical power and removes the surges, spikes, sags,and other irregularities that are inherent in commercial utility power. Working with a building's electricalsystem, the UPS system supplies clean, consistent power that sensitive electronic equipment requires forreliable operation. During brownouts, blackouts, and other power interruptions, batteries provide emergencypower to safeguard operation.The UPS is housed in a free-standing cabinet, divided into two sections to facilitate shipping:• Integrated System Bypass Module (ISBM)• Power Module (PM)The sections match in style and color and have safety shields behind the door and front panels for hazardousvoltage protection.The Eaton 9395C UPS configuration is shown in Figure 1.NOTE Startup and operational checks must be performed by an authorized Eaton CustomerService Engineer, or the warranty terms specified on 1.8 Warranty become void. Thisservice is offered as part of the sales contract for the UPS system. Contact an Eatonservice representative in advance (usually a two-week notice is required) to reserve apreferred startup date.
