Operation Manual – Multicast ProtocolH3C S9500 Series Routing Switches Chapter 4 Common Multicast Configuration4-34.3 Managed multicast Configuration4.3.1 Managed multicast OverviewThe managed multicast feature controls user’s authority to join multicast groups. Thisfeature is based on ports: users must first pass the 802.1x authentication set for theirports. Then they are allowed to join the multicast groups specifically configured forthem but are prohibited from joining any multicast group they are not authorized to join.In this way, users access to specific multicast groups under control.Prerequisites of multicast authentication:1) 802.1x is enabled both globally and on ports. Otherwise, when you enablemanaged multicast, all IGMP report messages are legal. Then the system allowsusers to join any group and cannot control the access to multicast groups.2) The managed multicast is based on port. The 802.1x mode on port must be portauthentication. Otherwise, the system discards all IGMP report messages withoutany processing.4.3.2 Configuring Managed MulticastPerform the following configurations in system view.Table 4-5 Configure managed multicast in system viewOperation CommandEnable managed multicast ip managed-multicastDisable managed multicast undo ip managed-multicastTable 4-6 Set managed multicast for users in a specific domainOperation CommandSet the multicast group which users in thespecified domain are authorized to joinlocal-user multicast [ domaindomain-name ] ip-address[ mask-length ]Remove the multicast group which users inthe specified domain are authorized to joinundo local-user multicast[ domain domain-name ] ip-addressPerform the following configuration in local user view.
