That is, the system canautomatically recognize the type of cable connecting to the port.2.2.7 Enabling/Disabling Flow Control for the Ethernet PortAfter enabling flow control in both the local and the peer switch, if congestion occurs inthe local switch, the switch will inform its peer to pause packet sending. Once the peerswitch receives this message, it will pause packet sending, and vice versa. In this way, packet loss is reduced effectively. The flow control function of the Ethernet port can beenabled or disabled through the following command.Perform the following configuration in Ethernet port view.Table 2-7 Enabling/disabling flow control for the Ethernet portOperation CommandEnable Ethernet port flow control flow-controlDisable Ethernet port flow control undo flow-controlBy default, Ethernet port flow control is disabled.2.2.8 Enabling/Disabling Jumbo Frames’ Passing a CardDuring large throughput data switching, like file transmission, a card may encounterjumbo frames larger than the standard Ethernet frame length. The following commandcan be used to enable jumbo frames to pass a card or disable them from passing acard.Perform the following configuration in system view.
