Step 005 Perform the following procedure for problem determination.Note: When possible, run AIX Online Diagnostics in ConcurrentMode. AIX Online diagnostics perform additional functions,compared to standalone diagnostics CD.1. Perform the AIX online concurrent mode diagnostics forProblem Determination, see “Performing AIX online concurrentmode diagnostics for problem determination” on page 25.Record any diagnostic results and utilize the “SRN tables” onpage 110 to identify the failing component.Note: If you have replaced the failing component then to verifythe repair go to “Verifying the replacement part using AIXdiagnostics” on page 30.2. If you cannot perform AIX concurrent online diagnostics thencontinue to Step 006.Step 006 Perform the following steps:1. Turn off the system unit power and wait 45 seconds beforeproceeding.2. Turn on the system unit power.3. Start the Serial Over Lan (SOL) console for the blade server tobe tested and check for the following responses:a. Progress codes are displayed on the console.b. Record any messages or diagnostic information that may bedisplayed on the system console.4. Load the standalone diagnostics CD-ROM. Go to “Running thestandalone diagnostics from CD-ROM” on page 25 or “Runningstandalone diagnostics from a management (NIM) server” onpage 68.5. If you have replaced the failing component then to verify therepair go to “Verifying the replacement part using AIXdiagnostics” on page 30.6. If you are still having a problem or think you still have a problemcall the support center.This ends the AIX procedure.Step 007 If the operating system is Linux then perform the following:1. Turn off the system unit power and wait 45 seconds beforeproceeding.2. Turn on the system unit power.3. Start the Serial Over Lan (SOL) console for the blade server tobe tested and check for the following responses:a. Progress codes are displayed on the console.b.
