Rear viewThis topic discusses the indicators on the rear of the IBM MAX5 for System xmemory expansion module,The following illustration shows the indicators on the rear of the IBM MAX5 forSystem x memory expansion module:Power-onLEDLocateLEDSystemerrorLEDAC LED (green)DC LED (green)Power supplyfault (error) LEDQPIport 1PowerconnectorsEXA port 1LEDlinkEXA port 2LEDlinkEXA port 3LEDlinkEXAport 1EXAport 2EXAport 3QPIport 2QPIport 3QPIport 4v Power-on LED: When this green LED is lit, it indicates that the memoryexpansion module is powered on. This LED is functionally equivalent to thepower-on LED on the front of the memory expansion module.v Locate LED: When this blue LED is lit, it indicates that the command from theserver IMM to the memory expansion module is complete. Use this blue LED tolocate the memory expansion module. The front locate LED also has a buttonthat you can press to locate other servers or other memory expansion modulesto which the memory expansion module is connected. This LED is functionallyequivalent to the locate LED on the front of the memory expansion module.v System error LED: When this LED is lit, it indicates that a system error hasoccurred.v QPI ports:Insert either a QPI cable or a filler panel in each of these connectors.Note: When you handle the QPI cables, take precautions to avoid damaging thehigh density interface. Dropping or incorrectly connecting the QPI cables candamage the high density interface. Store the protective covers that come on theend of the QPI cables for reuse when you perform maintenance on the server ormemory expansion module or when you remove the cables of any reason.v Power connector: Connect the power cord to this connector.v AC power LED: Each hot-swap power supply has an ac power LED and a dcpower LED. When the ac power LED is lit, it indicates that sufficient power iscoming into the power supply through the power cord. During typicaloperation, both the ac and dc power LEDs are lit.v DC power LED: Each hot-swap power supply has a dc power LED and an acpower LED. When the dc power LED is lit, it indicates that the power supply issupplying adequate dc power to the memory expansion module. During normaloperation, both the ac and dc power LEDs are lit.v EXA link LED: When this green LED is lit, it indicates that a EXA link isfunctioning.Chapter 2. Introduction 33
