Controller firmware upgrade 1414 Open a terminal session on your host (e.g. WINDOWS terminal) with thefollowing settings:5 Turn the printer on.6 You will be prompted to press the CTRL-P key with the following message:“Press CTRL-P to update the application / fls/EPC-M1........”You have 5 seconds to press this key, otherwise the controller will not updatethe firmware.7 When CTRL-P is pressed, you are prompted to confirm your choice.“You have pressed CTRL-P key”“Do you confirm to update the file application /fls/EPC-M1?”“Y confirm / N cancel”8 If you press N, the controller will start with its current firmware version.9 If you press Y, you are prompted to send the new firmware file through theCentronics port:“Transfer controller software through the Centronics port”.10 Send the new firmware file from your host, e.g. on a DOS session on a PC:copy /b EPC-M1_1.0.ld lpt111 The following messages allow you to monitor the progress on the terminalwindow:“Loading file”“Transfer progress xx%”‘Transfer successful, checksum 0x........”“Writing to Flash”“Erase Flash ...... done”“Writing progress: xx%”“Done”“Operation Complete”“Transfer successful”“Turn machine OFF then ON to apply modifications”12 Turn the printer off.baud rate 9600data b 8stop b 1parity noneflow control none
