8 General Features of Camera unit_ Multi-formatBy applying the interlace drive/progressive drive(reading all pixels) to the 2.2-mega pixel CCD, the unitsupports a variety of recording methods. (Refer to page44)_ Chromatic Aberration Compensation functionThe unit is equipped with a function to correct themagnification ratio chromatic aberration of lensescaused by the fact that the refractive index in lensesvaries with the wavelength of light (hereinafter referredto as chromatic aberration). By using this function,chromatic aberration around the lens can be correctedand high definition images can be obtained. However, alens supporting chromatic aberration compensation ismust be used. (Refer to page 97)_ Scan Reverse functionThe Scan Reverse function, as standard configuration,cancels the image inversion that occurs when a lensadapter from Canon or Angenieux is used, and it can beswitched through the Menu settings. (Refer to page 159)_ Film-like Gamma functionIn order to obtain film tone in Varicam (AJ-HDC27series), the unit is equipped with the FILM-REC gammaalmost equivalent to Varicam. (Refer to page 171)_ 2-disk 4-type configuration optical filtersThe unit is equipped with CC filters for 3200K, 4300K,5600K, and 6300K. The 5600K filter for outdoorrecording is standard. It is possible to reproduce images that are morefinely detailed._ Storage type high-sensitivity function (DS. GAIN)The unit uses the storage type gain increase function bydriving the CCD progressively. With this function, it ispossible to obtain brighter pictures without increasingnoise under low light conditions.This is a function that makes it possible to achievehigher sensitivity of up to 20 dB above the regular gainincrease. Furthermore, this function can also be used aspicture effects.
