Installation User guide8Placing your printerPlace the printer on a solid, flat, surface, ensuringthat the printer is positioned in such a way that itcan not topple, and that there is easy access to thecontrol panel and paper input devices. Also ensu-re that there is sufficient space for the printed out-put.If you expect that frequent forward and reversefeeds will occur, you should place the printer asshown in the figure, if possible.The power supply cable may be dama-ged if the paper edges constantly chafethe insulating sheath. The user mustalways ensure that there is sufficientdistance between the power supplycable and the paper.When selecting the printer location, observe thefollowing additional instructions:Never place the printer in the vicinity ofinflammable gas or explosive sub-stances.Do not expose the printer to direct sunlight. If you cannot avoid plac-ing the printer near a window, protect it from the sunlight with a cur-tain.When connecting the computer with the printer, make sure not to ex-ceed the permitted cable length (see Interface specifications,page 127).Ensure sufficient distance between the printer and any heating radi-ators.Avoid exposing the printer to extreme temperature or air humidityfluctuations.
