Us i n g th e S c a n Se rv i c eOverviewThis section describes the configuration procedure to use thescanner (save to a computer) function on the machine.The following is the procedure to use the scanner (save to acomputer) function:• Enabling the port and setting TCP/IPEnable the FTP port or SMB port and set the machine's IPaddress.• Preparing a FTP folder or SMB folderCreate a folder for transmission destinations on the computer.NOTE: When using with SMB protocol, you must login to the FTPserver of your choice and create a destination directory for yourfiles.Enabling the ports and setting the IP addressesIn order to use the scanner (save to a computer) service, enable aport (SMB or FTP client) and set the IP address. The procedurefor setting the machine is as follows:NOTE 1: The configuration can also be performed usingCentreWare Internet Services.NOTE 2: Enable the SOAP port and the SNMP port in most cases.Refer to “Using CentreWare Internet Services” on page 3-1.1. Display the System Administrator Menu screen.a. Press the Log In/Out button.NOTE: If the password is set, the Login screen isdisplayed.b. If the password is set, enter the password using thenumeric keypad and select Confirm. If the password is notset, proceed to step c.NOTE: The default value for the password is 11111.c.
