6 Deployment PtP communication6.1 Fast introductionThe CPU has the interface X3 MPI(PtP) with a fix pinout. After an overall reset the inter-face has MPI functionality. By appropriate configuration the PtP function (point to point)can be enabled:n PtP functionality– Using the PtP functionality the RS485 interface is allowed to connect via serialpoint-to-point connection to different source res. target systems. The protocols respectively procedures ASCII, STX/ETX, 3964R, USS and Modbus aresupported. The parametrization of the serial interface happens during runtime using the FC/SFC 216(SER_CFG). For this you have to store the parameters in a DB for all protocols exceptASCII.The FCs/SFCs are controlling the communication. Send takes place via FC/SFC 217(SER_SND) and receive via FC/SFC 218 (SER_RCV). The repeated call of the FC/SFC217 SER_SND delivers a return value for 3964R, USS and Modbus via RetVal that con-tains, among other things, recent information about the acknowledgement of the partnerstation. The protocols USS and Modbus allow to evaluate the receipt telegram by callingthe FC/SFC 218 SER_RCV after SER_SND. The FCs/SFCs are included in the consign-ment of the CPU.Use FCs instead SFCsPlease regard that the special VIPA SFCs are not shown in the SLIOCPU. Please use for programming tools e.g. Siemens SIMATIC Managerand TIA Portal the according FCs of the VIPA library. The following FCs/SFCs are used for the serial communication:FC/SFC DescriptionFC/SFC 216 SER_CFG RS485 parameterizeFC/SFC 217 SER_SND RS485 sendFC/SFC 218 SER_RCV RS485 receiveMore information about the usage of these blocks may be found in themanual "SPEED7 Operation List" from VIPA.GeneralProtocolsParametrizationCommunicationOverview FCs/SFCs forserial communicationVIPA System SLIODeployment PtP communicationFast introductionHB300 | CPU | 013-CCF0R00 | en | 19-30170
