PERIODIC MAINTENANCE3-65. Measure:• Valve clearanceOut of specification → Adjust.▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼a. Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise.b. When piston #1 is at TDC on the compres-sion stroke, align the TDC mark “a” on thegenerator rotor with the slot “b” in the gener-ator rotor cover.c. Measure the valve clearance with a thicknessgauge “1”.TIP• If the valve clearance is incorrect, record themeasured reading.• Measure the valve clearance in the followingsequence.d.
