Stand the vehicle on a level surface.WARNINGEWA13120Securely support the vehicle so that there isno danger of it falling over.TIPPlace the vehicle on a suitable stand so that therear wheel is elevated.2. Measure:• Swingarm side play• Swingarm vertical movement▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼a. Measure the tightening torque of the pivotshaft nut.b. Check the swingarm side play “A” by movingthe swingarm from side to side.If the swingarm has side-to-side play, checkthe collars, bearings, and dust covers.c. Check:• Pivot shaftRoll the pivot shaft on a flat surface.Bends → Replace.WARNINGEWA13770Do not attempt to straighten a bent pivotshaft.3. Wash:• Pivot shaft• Dust covers• Collars• Bearings• Washer4.
