FEATURES1-22Self-diagnosis deviceThis model is equipped with a self-diagnosis de-vice for various electrical circuits.If a problem is detected in any of those circuits,the engine trouble warning light will come on andthe display will indicate a fault code.If the display indicates any fault codes, note thecode number, and then check the fuel injectionsystem. (Refer to “FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM”on page 8-33.)The self-diagnosis device also detects problemsin the immobilizer system circuits.If a problem is detected in the immobilizer sys-tem circuits, the immobilizer system indicatorlight will flash and the display will indicate a faultcode.TIPIf the display indicates fault code 52, this couldbe caused by transponder interference. If thisfault code appears, try the following.1. Use the code re-registering key to start theengine.TIPMake sure there are no other immobilizer keysclose to the main switch, and do not keep morethan one immobilizer key on the same key ring!Immobilizer system keys may cause signal inter-ference, which may prevent the engine fromstarting.2. If the engine starts, turn it off and try startingthe engine with the standard keys.3. If one or both of the standard keys do not startthe engine, take the vehicle, the code re-reg-istering key and both standard keys. If thedisplay indicates any fault codes, note thecode number, and then check the vehicle.NOTICEECA20360If the display indicates a fault code, the vehi-cle should be checked as soon as possiblein order to avoid engine damage.Brightness control modeThis function allows you to adjust the brightnessof the multi-function meter unit panel to suit theoutside lighting conditions.[To adjust the brightness]1. Turn the key to “OFF”.2. Push and hold the left set button.3. Turn the key to “ON” and continue pushingthe left set button until the display switches tothe brightness control mode.4. Push the right set button to set the brightnesslevel.5. Push the left set button to confirm the select-ed brightness level and exit the brightnesscontrol mode.1. Error code display2.
