Thismeans that the DC1 variable frequency drive will need to handle acyclicrequests and responses from/to both masters.4.4.6.2 AddressingThe parameter channel is embedded as a payload data block in the acyclicPROFIBUS write/read PDUs.The acyclic data objects of a slave are addressed via slots and indexes on thePROFIBUS. SWD maps the slot to the SWD module address. The parameterchannel is always addressed with index 47.4.4.6.3 ProtocolAcyclic services (index-based addressing and payload data) are mapped thesame way on SWD by the PROFIBUS-DP gateway (EU5C-SWD-DP). As aresult, the parameter channel can be used in a fully transparent manner bySmartWire-DT modules. The following diagram shows the protocol between the PROFIBUS-DPmaster, PROFIBUS-DP gateway, and a DC1 variable frequency drive.Figure 18: Acyclic PROFIBUS-DP parameter channel protocol→ For more information on the subject of the transfer of acyclicdata, consult the MN05013002Z-EN manual, “SmartWire-DTGateways“.ParameterRequestPROFIBUS-DPMasterPROFIBUS-DPGateway DC1ParameterRequestError orno DataError orno DataParameterResponseParameterResponse(pos./neg.)ParameterProcessingDP Write RequestDP Write Response(no Data or Error)DP Read RequestDP Read Response(no Data or Error)DP Read RequestDP Read Response((no) Data or Error)SWD Write RequestSWD Write Response(no Data or Error)SWD Read RequestSWD Read Response(no Data or Error)SWD Read RequestSWD Read Response((no) Data or Error)DP Error SWD Error OK orErrorOK orErrorOK orErrorDP Error SWD ErrorDP Error SWD ErrorPROFIBUS-DP SWDDC1
