Thisallows for troubleshooting and optimizing your network. The Magnum 6K family of switchesprovides hardware-based RMON counters. The switch manager or a network managementsystem can poll these counters periodically to collect the statistics in a format that complies withthe RMON MIB definition. The following RMON groups are supported:• Ethernet Statistics Group - maintains utilization and error statistics for the switch portbeing monitored.• History Group – gathers and stores periodic statistical samples from previous StatisticsGroup.• Alarm Group – allows a network administrator to define alarm thresholds for any MIBvariable.• Log and Event Group – allows a network administrator to define actions based on alarms.SNMP Traps are generated when RMON Alarms are triggered.251
