122 Index Contents Confidential FUNC (K)/Ver. 1.0125 VOXVOX function can be used to transmit automatically byspeaking into the microphone without using the PTTswitch.This function is useful when a headset microphone isinstalled on the transceiver but the PTT switch cannot bepressed.This function is available only when a user wears theheadset and the transceiver is in Conventional Group.If the VOX Function checkbox is checked, VOX isactivated when the transceiver is turned ON.Note: The transceiver cannot transmit with VOX if the transmission isrestricted by Stun, etc. If the transceiver terminates the VOX transmission due to theTime-out Timer, the transceiver does not transmit until both theVOX and PTT switch are disabled. Transceiver Operationz Enabling VOX1. Press and hold the VOX key for more than 2seconds.The “ ” icon (left) appears and VOX isenabled.z Disabling VOX1. Press and hold the VOX key for more than 2seconds.The “ ” icon (left) disappears and VOX isdisabled.Note: The VOX configuration is stored even if the transceiver isturned OFF. Transceiver Operation1. Press the VOX key.The transceiver activates VOX.The “ ” icon (left) and the current VOX GainLevel appear on the display.2. Adjust the VOX Gain Level using the [ or[C>] key or Selector *1.*1 If the List Selection Key (Selector) is enabled.Note: The LED lights orange when the Mic input level reaches thetransmission reference value. In this case, the transceiverdoes not actually transmit.3. Press the Side 1 key.The channel name or number appears on thedisplay.VOX is enabled.Note: The VOX Gain Level configuration is retained even if thetransceiver is turned OFF.
