2 BASIC OPERATION12 Index Contents Confidential FUNC (K)/Ver. 1.012.9 Receive2.9.1 Conventional GroupThe transceiver can communicate with the receiving partyonly if the received QT/DQT code matches the configuredQT/DQT code. The transceiver emits the received audiowhen the QT/DQT code matches.Receive frequency and QT/DQT Decode must beconfigured by using KPG-101D. Transceiver Operation1. Select a Zone-channel to be used. (Refer to 2.4Changing the Zone on page 9, 2.5 Changing theCH/GID on page 9.)2. Adjust the volume level if needed when thetransceiver receives a call. (Refer to 2.2 Adjustingthe Volume on page 9.) Configuration using KPG-101D• Configuring the Receive Frequency (Refer toFPRG 6.4.3 Receive Frequency.)• Configuring the QT/DQT Decode (Refer to FPRG6.4.5 QT/DQT Decode.)2.9.2 Trunking System (TK-3173 only)The transceiver can communicate with the receiving partyonly if the received LTR ID matches the configured LTRID. The transceiver emits the received audio when theLTR ID matches.Receive Frequency and the Decode ID must beconfigured by using KPG-101D. Transceiver Operation1. Select a Zone-Group ID to be used. (Refer to 2.4Changing the Zone on page 9, 2.5 Changing theCH/GID on page 9.)2. Adjust the volume level if needed when thetransceiver receives a call. (Refer to 2.2 Adjustingthe Volume on page 9.) Configuration using KPG-101D• Configuring the Receive Frequency (Refer toFPRG 6.5.3 Receive Frequency.)• Configuring the Decode ID (Refer to FPRG 6.6.4Decode ID.)2.10 Transmit2.10.1 Conventional GroupThe transceiver sends the programmed QT/DQT code ifthe PTT switch is pressed. If the sent QT/DQT codematches the QT/DQT code configured at the receivingparty’s transceiver, the caller can communicate with thereceiving party. The transceiver transmits Reverse Burst if QT is used, orsends the Turn-off code if DQT is used to close thespeaker of the receiving party’s transceiver when the PTTswitch is released.Transmit frequency and QT/DQT Encode must beconfigured by using KPG-101D. Transceiver Operation1. Select a Zone-channel to be used. (Refer to 2.4Changing the Zone on page 9, 2.5 Changing theCH/GID on page 9.)2. Confirm that the channel is available.3. Speak into the microphone while pressing the PTTswitch.4. Release the PTT switch to stop the transmission. Configuration using KPG-101D• Configuring the Transmit Frequency (Refer toFPRG 6.4.4 Transmit Frequency.)• Configuring the QT/DQT Encode (Refer to FPRG6.4.6 QT/DQT Encode.)2.10.2 Trunking System (TK-3173 only)The transceiver sends the LTR ID while the PTT switch ispressed to transmit. The transceiver connects to therepeater and waits to receive data that is echoed back.If the data is correct, the transceiver assumes theconnection is properly established and re-transmits to thereceiving party. When the transmitted LTR ID matches the LTR IDconfigured in the receiving party’s transceiver, thetransceiver can communicate with the receiving party. When the PTT switch is released, the transceiver sendsEOT data to close the speaker of the receiving party’stransceiver.Transmit Frequency and Encode ID must be configuredby using KPG-101D.
