5 − PlaybackTASCAM SS-CDR1 37End of disc/track message (EOM)If the EOM function is on, an EOM tally signal will be out-put from the CONTROL I/O (PARALLEL) connector whenthe time remaining in the track or the play area falls belowthe specified duration.Specifying an EOM tally output triggerUse menu mode to specify the remaining track time orplaylist time that will trigger the output of an EOM tallysignal (for details on menu operations, refer to “Operationsin the menu screens” on page 18).1 Press the MENU key to access the main menu listscreen.2 Select the PLAY menu.3 Highlight PREFERENCE.4 Press the front panel ˚ key (or the remote’scursor ¥) key to proceed to the PLAY PREFER-ENCE screen.5 Select EOM TRACK if you want to use the trackremaining time as the trigger, or EOM MEDIA ifyou want to use the remaining time in the playarea as the trigger.6 Turn the MULTI JOG dial (or use the remote’scursor § , ¶ keys) to specify the remaining timethat will trigger the tally output.You can choose from the range of OFF or 1–99 (sec-onds).7 When you’ve finished making settings, press theTIME (ESC) key to return to the home screen.NOTEThis setting is remembered even when the power isoff.Example of actual use1 To the CONTROL I/O (PARALLEL) connector, con-nect the device that will receive the EOM tallysignal.2 Power-on the SS-CDR1 and the receiving device.3 Begin playback on the SS-CDR1.When the remaining time of the current track or theplay area falls below the specified time duration, theEOM indicator in the home screen will blink, and anEOM tally signal will be output from the CONTROL I/O(PARALLEL) connector.If the remaining time of both the track and the play areahave been specified as triggers, an EOM tally signalwill be transmitted when either condition is satisfied.
