NTP 3-3The following table identifies the NTP CLI commands.Enable Commandenable ntp The enable ntp command enables the Network Time Protocol (NTP), whichreferences a clock located on the Internet, allowing the OfficeConnect Gateway tosynchronize its clock setting with a server of your choice. See the set ntp anddisable ntp commands for more information.Disable Commanddisable ntp The disable ntp command disables the Network Time Protocol which referencesclocks located on the Internet. See the enable ntp and set ntp commands formore information.Set Commandset ntp The set ntp command sets parameters for the NTP client process, whichreferences a clock located on the Internet. This is useful to specify the server youwant the OfficeConnect Gateway to access for time synchronization. Support forNTP is based on RFC 2030, using Unicast mode only. The set ntp command has the following parameters:polling_interval <64-1024>primary_server retransmissions <0-200>secondary_server timeout <1-60>These parameters are described in the following table. See the show ntp settingscommand to display the ntp configuration.Command Type Command NameEnable enable ntpDisable disable ntpSet set ntpShow show ntpParameters Descriptionpolling_interval Period in seconds the NTP process takes to gather time synchronizationinformation. The default is 600 seconds.primary_server IP address or host name of the server the OfficeConnect Gateway willcontact first for time synchronization.retransmissions Maximum number of times a request is retransmitted to a specified serverbefore the server is considered unavailable. The range is 1 - 200attempts. The default is 5 attempts.secondary_server IP address or host name of the server the OfficeConnect Gateway willcontact for time synchronization whenever the primary server isunavailable.
