Do not shift intoa drive gear while the engine isrunning at high speed.CautionShifting out of P (Park) orN (Neutral) with the engine runningat high speed may damage thetransmission. The repairs would notbe covered by the vehicle warranty.Be sure the engine is not running athigh speed when shifting thevehicle.The vehicle is not designed to stay inN (Neutral) for more thanfive minutes. It may automaticallyshift into P (Park). N (Neutral) is notintended for towing. If the vehicleneeds to be towed, see Towing theVehicle 0 346.To shift into N (Neutral):1. Move the shift lever forward tothe first detent from the centerposition.If the vehicle is in P (Park), applythe brake pedal and press theshift lock release button whilemoving the shift lever forward. Nwill illuminate in red.2. After releasing the shift lever, itwill return to the center position.To shift out of N (Neutral):1. Bring the vehicle to acomplete stop.2. Shift to the desired gear.If shifting from N (Neutral) toR (Reverse) the shift lock releasebutton will need to be pressed.3. After releasing the shift lever, itwill return to the center position.Car Wash ModeThis vehicle includes a Car WashMode that allows the vehicle toremain in N (Neutral) for use inautomatic car washes.Car Wash Mode (Engine Off – Driverin Vehicle)To place the vehicle in N (Neutral)with the engine off and the vehicleoccupied:1. Drive to the entrance of thecar wash.2. Apply the brake pedal.3. Shift to N (Neutral).4. Turn off the engine and releasethe brake pedal.5. The indicator should continue toshow N. If it does not, repeatSteps 2–4.6. The vehicle is now ready for thecar wash.
