Even with LKA and LDW,you must steer the vehicle. Alwayskeep your attention on the road andmaintain proper vehicle positionwithin the lane, or vehicle damage,injury, or death could occur. Turn the system off.How the System WorksLKA uses a camera sensor installed onthe windshield ahead of the rearviewmirror to detect lane markings. It mayprovide brief steering assist if itdetects an unintended lane departure.It may further provide an audible alertor the driver seat may pulse indicatingthat a lane marking has been crossed.To turn LKA on and off, press Aon the steering wheel. If equipped, theindicator light on the button comeson when LKA is on and turns offwhen LKA is disabled.When on, A is white, if equipped,indicating that the system is notready to assist. A is green if LKA isready to assist. LKA may assist bygently turning the steering wheelif the vehicle approaches adetected lane marking. A is amberwhen assisting. It may also provide aLane Departure Warning (LDW) alertby flashing A amber if the vehiclecrosses a detected lane marking.Additionally, there may be threebeeps, or the driver seat may pulsethree times, on the right or left,depending on the lane departuredirection.Take SteeringThe LKA system does notcontinuously steer the vehicle. If LKAdoes not detect active driver steering,an alert and chime may be provided.
