A Super Cruise system faultoccurs.Attention to the Road{ WarningSuper Cruise is a driver assistancesystem and cannot accuratelydetect or predict all situations.Super Cruise is not a crashavoidance system. To preventserious injury or death, you mustsupervise the driving task andmonitor the road conditions. Youmay need to respond to trafficevents by steering, braking,or accelerating. See DefensiveDriving 0 173. Super Cruise alsocannot determine whether you areawake, asleep, impaired, or properlyfocused on safe driving. The vehiclecould crash into other vehicles,drive out of the lane, or drive offthe road. Complete attention isalways required while driving, evenwhile using Super Cruise. Beprepared to take over steering orapply the brakes at any time.{ WarningTo prevent serious injury or death,be alert and pay special attentionwhen passing highway exits,entrances, and crossings with SuperCruise, and be ready to take controlof the vehicle when necessary.Changes in lane markings aroundexits and entrances canmomentarily cause Super Cruise tonot detect the correct lane. If thisoccurs, Super Cruise may attemptsteering inputs to bring the vehicleback into the correct lane and, inrare circumstances, couldover-correct and cause the vehicleto momentarily cross into a lanenext to your vehicle unless youmanually steer to maintain yourlane position.The Driver Attention System (DAS) onthe steering column continuallymonitors driver head and eye positionto estimate driver attention to theroad. The camera does not record orshare pictures, audio, or video.Sunglasses, hats, or other types ofclothing that change the shape of thehead may interfere with cameraperformance. To improve cameraperformance, raise or lower thesteering wheel, or change the seatposition.
