Whenusing APA, you must still shift gears,while the system applies the brakesand accelerator. A display and audiblebeeps help to guide parkingmaneuvers.Do not use APA when towing a trailer.{ WarningAPA may not detect objects in theparking space, objects that are softor narrow, objects high off theground such as flatbed trucks,objects below ground level such aslarge potholes, or moving objects(e.g. pedestrians). Always verify thatthe parking space is appropriate forparking a vehicle. To search for a parkingspace to the left, turn on the left turnsignal or, if available, change the sideselection in the infotainment display.To switch the parking mode betweenparallel and perpendicular, touch andhold O during the search process or,if available, change the parking modein the infotainment display.After completely passing a largeenough space, an audible beep occurs.A red stop symbol and a shift toreverse message are displayed.If the vehicle is in R (Reverse), butdoes not steer into the expectedspace, this may be because the systemis maneuvering the vehicle into apreviously detected space. The APAsystem does not need service.
