Operation52 M-Max Series Adjustable Frequency Drive MN04020003E—October 2013 www.eaton.comCommissioning with Control Signal Terminals(Factory Setting)M-Max frequency inverters are set in the factory and can bestarted directly via the control signal terminals by connectingthe motor outputs allocated for the input voltage (seeconnection example below).You can skip this section if you want to set up theparameters directly for optimal operation of the frequencyinverter based on the motor data (rating plate) and theapplication.The following shows a simplified connecting example of aconnection with default settings.Connect the frequency inverter according to the connectionexample for simple commissioning with the specified defaultsettings (see connecting example above).If the connections for the setpoint value potentiometercannot be clearly allocated with terminals 1, 2 and 3, youshould set the potentiometer to about 50% before giving thestart release (FWD/REV) for the first time.When the specified power supply is applied to connectionterminal L2/N and L3 (MMX11) or L1 and L2/N (MMX12) orL1, L2/N and L3 (MMX32, MMX34, MMX35), the LCDdisplay lights up and all segments are displayed briefly.The frequency inverter runs a self-test automatically whenthe power is applied.The arrows ( ) in the top status line of the LCD displayshow the operating status:● READY = proper operating status● STOP = stop (no start command)The arrows ( ) in the bottom status line show the controllercommands.
