Monitoring disk space 229In Test Shutting DownLoading UninitializedNo ResourcesMonitoring disk spaceThe performance of your CallPilot system depends, to some degree, on theamount of available disk space. Without enough disk space, the servercannot perform adequately. In some circumstances, the server can stopfunctioning.Nortel systems are engineered to provide adequate space to meet your datastorage and system operation requirements. You must, however, monitordisk space occasionally to ensure space does not become too limited.Disk partitionsThe CallPilot server is formatted in the following two disk partitions:• The Multimedia File System ( MMFS) contains messages and greetingsand other changing CallPilot data.• The database includes administrative information such as user profiles, which include user names and DNs, and OMs, which are raw data aboutthe system.Nightly auditEach night, the CallPilot server performs an audit that cleans up expired filesin the MMFS and the system database. In particular, the audit removes usermessages from the MMFS that are past the expiry date, and expired OMsfrom the system database. You can configure how long OMs are stored.Monitoring Nortel directory disk spaceTo monitor the disk space available for the Nortel directory, you must waitfor alarms to be raised. You can, however, determine how much free spaceexists on this disk using the SPM.Alarms are raised if logical disk space becomes limited. Different alarmsare raised depending on how much disk space is left on the logical drives.Alarm Amount of space leftMajor less than 10%Critical less than 5%Nortel CallPilotAdministrator GuideNN44200-601 01.11 Standard5.0 9 November 2007Copyright © 2007, Nortel Networks.
