Once you establish a dial-up connection, it appears as ifthe CallPilot server and the personal computer are on the same LAN. Youcan use a dial-up connection to• perform limited file transfers between the personal computer and theCallPilot server• point your browser to CallPilot Manager• use Windows System Tools to maintain the CallPilot serverRequired softwareTo connect to the CallPilot server from a personal computer that is not tothe same LAN, you must use Windows Dial-Up Networking, and Routingand Remote Access Service (RRAS) software.Note: To administer the CallPilot server from a remote personalcomputer, you can use pcAnywhere software.Dial-Up Networking software is usually installed during the installation of theoperating system. If the Dial-Up Networking folder does not appear in theMy Computer window, the software is not installed. Refer to your Windowsdocumentation for a Dial-Up Networking installation procedure.The RRAS and pcAnywhere 12.0 software are installed on the CallPilotserver at the factory. No on-site configuration is required.Creating the Dial-Up Networking connection profileThe Windows Dial-Up Networking software enables you to establish aconnection between the server and the remote personal computer over thepublic switch telephone network (PSTN).
