Thesefeatures either send a special signal to the host system or allowyou to programme delays required by host systems to externalAutodial keys or Speed Dial codes.Inserting a pauseThe Pause feature enters a 3.5-second delay in a dialling sequenceon an exchange line. You may need this for signalling remotedevices, such as answering machines, or when dialling through toPBX features or host systems.You can programme more than one pause in an external Autodialor Speed Dial sequence.For pulse dialling, • inserts a 1.5-second pause into the diallingsequence.The pause symbol (›) uses one of the 24 spaces in a diallingsequence.Press ≤‡° while programming a dialling sequence.Note: You can obtain a pause with one key press if youprogramme the feature code to a memory key. More thanone pause can be programmed to an external Autodial key.Setting Long tonesThe Long tones feature allows you to control the length of a toneso that you can signal devices such as fax or answering machines,which require tones longer than the standard 120 milliseconds.1. While on a call, press ≤°‚°.2. Use the keypad to produce the appropriate tones. Each tonesounds for as long as you hold down the key.Note: Long tones can be used on any call except a conferencecall.You can use internal lines of the Compact Plus system toactivate a device connected to an Analogue TerminalAdapter (ATA) in another area of your office or toexchange lines to access devices outside the Compact Plussystem.
