It lets you add new connections, edit existing ones, andarrange the connections in a tree structure that reflects the location of the basestations in the network. You can also import connections from or export themto other Service Kits. When you connect to a base station, you select one of theconnections that you have created or edited.There are different connection types, reflecting the different ways that theService Kit can be physically connected to a base station. You only need oneconnection for connecting directly to any base station, but you need a differentconnection for each remotely connected base station.If your PC has no serial port, obtain a USB to Serial (DB9) converter. Whenthe driver for this is installed, the operating system makes a virtual serial portavailable.Physical Connection OptionsThere are various ways of physically connecting the Service Kit to a basestation. The set of user-defined connections available to the Service Kit mustreflect the ways that the Service Kit PC will be physically connected to thedifferent base stations.
