5.2 b: ApplicationYASKAWA ELECTRIC SIEP C710616 27C YASKAWA AC Drive A1000 Technical Manual 163Parameter Details5◆ b8: Energy SavingThe Energy Saving feature improves overall system operating efficiency by operating the motor at its most efficientlevel.Note: 1. Energy Saving is mainly designed for applications with variable torque (Normal Duty) but is not appropriate for applications wherethe load may suddenly increase.2. As the performance of the Energy Saving function strongly depends on the accuracy of the motor data, always perform Auto-Tuningand make sure the motor data has been entered correctly before using this function.■ b8-01: Energy Saving Control SelectionEnables or disables the Energy Saving function.Setting 0: DisabledSetting 1: Enabled■ b8-02: Energy Saving Gain (OLV, CLV)Sets the gain level for Energy Saving. A higher value results in lower magnetization of the motor and thereby less energyconsumption. However, if b8-02 is too low, the motor may stall.■ b8-03: Energy Saving Control Filter Time Constant (OLV, CLV)Parameter b8-03 sets the response time for Energy Saving. Although lowering this value allows for a quicker response, instability may result if it is too low.■ b8-04: Energy Saving Coefficient Value (V/f, V/f w/PG)Parameter b8-04 is used to fine-tune Energy Saving control. The default setting depends on the capacity of the drive.Adjust this setting while viewing the output power monitor (U1-08) and running the drive with a light load.A low setting results in less output voltage and less energy consumption, but too small a value will cause the motor tostall.Note: This default value changes if the motor rated capacity set to E2-11 is changed. The Energy Saving coefficient is set automaticallywhen Auto-Tuning for Energy Saving is performed (Refer to Auto-Tuning on page 109).■ b8-05: Power Detection Filter Time (V/f, V/f w/PG)The Energy Saving function continuously searches out the lowest output voltage in order to achieve minimum outputpower. Parameter b8-05 determines how often the output power is measured in ms.Reducing this setting will increase the response time. If the filter time is too short, the motor may become unstable with alighter load.No. Parameter Name Setting Range Defaultb8-01 Energy Saving Control Selection 0 or 1 Determined by A1-02No. Name Setting Range Defaultb8-02 Energy Saving Gain 0.0 to 10.0 Determined by A1-02No. Name Setting Range Defaultb8-03 Energy Saving Control Filter Time Constant 0.00 to 10.00 s Determined byA1-02 and o2-04No. Name Setting Range Defaultb8-04 Energy Saving Coefficient Value 0.00 to 655.00 Determined byC6-01, E2-11, and o2-04No. Name Setting Range Defaultb8-05 Power Detection Filter Time 0 to 2000 ms 20 ms
