Install:• Brake master cylinder “1”• Brake master cylinder holder “2”NOTE:• Install the brake master cylinder holder withthe “UP” mark “a” facing up.• Align the end of the brake master cylinderholder with the punch mark “b” on the han-dlebar.• First, tighten the upper bolt, then the lowerbolt.• There should be 2–2.5 mm (0.08–0.10 in) ofclearance between the right handlebarswitch and the brake master cylinder holder.2. Install:• Copper washers• Brake hose• Union boltWARNINGEWA13530Proper brake hose routing is essential toinsure safe vehicle operation. Refer to"CABLE ROUTING" on page 2-39.NOTE:• While holding the brake hose, tighten theunion bolt as shown.• Turn the handlebar to the left and right tomake sure the brake hose does not touchother parts (e.g., wire harness, cables,leads).
