FEATURES1-8EAS4C81024INSTRUMENT FUNCTIONSMulti-function meter unitWARNINGEWA4C81008Be sure to stop the vehicle before makingany setting changes to the multi-functionmeter unit.The multi-function meter unit is equipped withthe following:• a speedometer (which shows the ridingspeed)• a tachometer (which shows engine speed)• an odometer (which shows the total distancetraveled)• two tripmeters (which show the distance trav-eled since they were last set to zero)• a fuel reserve tripmeter (which shows thedistance traveled since the fuel level warninglight came on)• a clock• a coolant temperature display• an air intake temperature display• a self-diagnosis device• a display brightness and shift timing indicatorlight control modeNOTE:• Be sure to turn the key to “ON” before usingthe “SELECT” and “RESET” buttons.• For the U.K. only: To switch the speedometerand odometer/tripmeter displays betweenkilometers and miles, press the “SELECT”button for at least one second.TachometerThe electric tachometer allows the rider tomonitor the engine speed and keep it withinthe ideal power range.When the key is turned to “ON”, the tachome-ter needle will sweep once across the r/minrange and then return to zero r/min in order totest the electrical circuit.CAUTION:ECA4C81017Do not operate the engine in the tachome-ter red zone.Red zone: 13750 r/min and aboveClock modeTurn the key to “ON”.To set the clock1. Push the “SELECT” button and “RESET”button together for at least two seconds.2. When the hour digits start flashing, pushthe “RESET” button to set the hours.3.
