11.5 Interlocking11.5.1 FunctionalityThe interlocking functionality blocks the possibility to operate high-voltage switchingdevices, for instance when a disconnector is under load, in order to prevent materialdamage and/or accidental human injury. Each control IED has interlocking functions for different switchyard arrangements, eachhandling the interlocking of one bay. The interlocking functionality in each IED is notdependent on any central function. For the station-wide interlocking, the IEDscommunicate via the station bus or by using hard wired binary inputs/outputs.The interlocking conditions depend on the primary bus configuration and status of anybreaker or switch at any given time.11.5.2 Logical node for interlocking SCILO (3)11.5.2.1 IdentificationFunction description IEC 61850identificationIEC 60617identificationANSI/IEEE C37.2device numberLogical node for interlocking SCILO - 311.5.2.2 FunctionalityThe Logical node for interlocking SCILO(3) function is used to enable a switchingoperation if the interlocking conditions permit. SCILO (3) function itself does not provideany interlocking functionality. The interlocking conditions are generated in separatefunction blocks containing the interlocking logic and provides SCILO(3) its input.11.5.2.3 Function blockANSI09000083-1-en.vsdSCILO (3)POSOPENPOSCLOSEOPEN_ENCLOSE_ENEN_OPENEN_CLOSEANSI09000083 V1 ENFigure 195: SCILO (3) function blockSection 11 1MRK 506 335-UUS AControl408Technical manual
