Configuring LPs and LAN Cards 6-7When Changes Take EffectWhen you add a new LP record, the change will be written to the database as soon asyou enter the final parameter value. When you modify an existing record, the changewill be written to the database immediately.The change will become effective at the LP in one of the following ways:l A change to an RLP in an ICP, INM, or NMP node is immediately effectivewhen the database record is changed.l A change to LP 0–3 in a DPPM node, can be implemented by performing aConfiguration Update ([B], [B], [D], [A] from the Main Menu) to the node con-taining the LP.Be sure to perform the update to a DPPM node before the nodeundergoes a re-IPL.l A change to LP 4–7 in a DPPM node will take effect at the next IPL of the nodecontaining the LP.N7000 RLP ParametersLP TypeAlthough pressing [?] for help displays a range of 1–6, these are the supported types:3 = AST Card 4 = T1/E1 6 = RLP-7000 NodeLine Interface Card 1contains physical ports 0–3 for the RLP:0 = not installed1 = RS-232 (supports RS-232C/V.28 through I/O box and cable)2 = RS-422 (supports RS-449/V.36, RS-530, or X.21 through I/O box and cable)3 = V.35Line Interface Card 2contains physical ports 4–7 of the LP.
