7-10 FRX8000 3.0 User Guide, Rev 02specified in the disabled trunk’s Port record. When the backup trunk receives theenable request, it checks its internal counter to see how many trunks it is currentlybacking up. If the counter is zero, the node enables the trunk, and increments thecounter to one. If the counter is not at zero, this means the trunk is already active, andthe counter is simply incremented by one. hen the failed trunk is re-activated, a disablerequest is sent to the backup trunk. The backup trunk then decrements its counter byone. If the counter is now zero, the software waits for 65 seconds, then starts thebackup trunk’s de-activation timer (configured in the port record). Once the timerexpires, the backup trunk becomes disabled.De-Activation Timerspecifies the length of time that a backup trunk stays up after all of its primary trunkshave come back up.This Trunk Backed Upspecifies whether the current trunk has a backup trunk.Backup LP ID/Port No./Logical Trunkidentifies the port that will be the local end of the backup trunk.V.25bis Modem OperationsCreating a Modem Initialization RecordA record can be created that specifies a string of data to be sent out (verbatim) from aV.25bis dial port to the modem each time the port is enabled (by node IPL or portdisable/enable).Press [E] at the Port Configuration Menu (or [A], [D], [E] from the Main Menu).
