PCIe riser card LEDsThis information provides the location of the LEDs on the PCIe riser card. The following illustration shows the location of the PCIe riser card LEDs:PCI slot 1error LEDPCI slot 2error LEDPCI slot 3error LEDPCI slot 1PCI slot 2PCI slot 3Event logsThis information describes the types of event logs that are generated for the server.Error codes and messages are displayed in the following types of event logs:v POST event log: This log contains the most recent error codes and messagesthat were generated during POST. You can view the contents of the POST eventlog from the Setup utility (see “Starting the Setup utility” on page 142). Formore information about UEFI/POST error codes, see Appendix C, “UEFI/POSTerror codes,” on page 473.v System-event log: This log contains POST and system management interrupt(SMI) events and all events that are generated by the baseboard managementcontroller that is embedded in the integrated management module (IMM). Youcan view the contents of the system-event log through the Setup utility andthrough the Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) program (as IPMI event log). The system-event log is limited in size. When it is full, new entries will notoverwrite existing entries; therefore, you must periodically clear thesystem-event log through the Setup utility. When you are troubleshooting anerror, you might have to save and then clear the system-event log to make themost recent events available for analysis. For more information about thesystem-event log, see Appendix D, “Integrated management module II (IMM2)error messages,” on page 493.Messages are listed on the left side of the screen, and details about the selectedmessage are displayed on the right side of the screen. To move from one entryto the next, use the Up Arrow (↑) and Down Arrow (↓) keys. Some IMM sensors cause assertion events to be logged when their setpoints arereached. When a setpoint condition no longer exists, a corresponding deassertionevent is logged. However, not all events are assertion-type events.v Integrated management module (IMM2) event log: This log contains a filteredsubset of all IMM, POST, and system management interrupt (SMI) events. Youcan view the IMM event log through the IMM web interface. For moreinformation, see “Logging on to the IMM web interface” on page 153. You canalso view the IMM event log through the Dynamic System Analysis (DSA)Chapter 4. Troubleshooting 181
