Start the Configuration/Setup Utility program and set configuration parameters.• Set the system date and time.• Set the power-on password.• Reconfigure your appliance server.Using the Recovery CDThe Recovery CD for your xSeries 130 is used to recover the preinstalled software onyour appliance server. You must start your appliance server with the recovery-enablement diskette, which is created using the Supplementary CD, before you canuse the Recovery CD. Using the Recovery CD does not reset your BIOS.Attention: Installing unauthorized service packs, or applications not included on theSupplementary CD, on your appliance server is not supported. You can obtainauthorized updates to the installed software using the update function in UM Services,for more information, see “Configuring the xSeries 130 using Universal ManageabilityServices” on page 15.Recovering your appliance server using DiskCreatorTo create a recovery-enablement diskette and recover the preinstalled software onyour appliance server, do the following:1. Using any workstation other than your appliance server, insert the SupplementaryCD into the CD-ROM drive.Note: The workstation that you use to create the recovery-enablement diskettemust have one of the following operating systems installed:• Microsoft Windows NT® Workstation• Microsoft Windows NT Server• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server• Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server• Microsoft Windows 95• Microsoft Windows 982. Insert a formatted diskette into the diskette drive of the workstation, and run theDiskCreator.exe file that is located on the Supplementary CD.3. Follow the instructions to create a recovery-enablement diskette.4. Remove the recovery-enablement diskette from the diskette drive.
