You can increase the amount of memory in your appliance server byinstalling dual inline memory modules (DIMMs). Your appliance server uses anoninterleaved memory configuration, which enables you to add, remove, or replaceone DIMM at a time. In an interleaved system you would have to add, remove, orreplace memory in sets.Your appliance server comes with a dual inline memory module (DIMM) installed onthe system board in DIMM slot 1.Figure 17. Turn off the appliance server and disconnect all external cables and power cords.3. Remove the cover according to “Removing the cover” on page 56.4. If necessary, remove the PCI adapter in slot 2 for easier access to the DIMMconnectors.5. Touch the static-protective package containing the DIMM to any unpainted metalsurface on the appliance server.
