Ifyou cannot resolve a problem, contact your dealer or serviceProblem SolutionThe power does not turn on. Make sure that the “I” on the printer power switch isdepressed.Make sure that the power cord is securely con-nected to both the printer and the outlet. Make surethat the power outlet is functional.Turn the power off. Wait a minute and then turn theprinter on again. If the printer still has no power, con-tact your dealer or service.The printer is on but it willnot print.Make sure that the Ready indicator is lit. See thesection “Operations of the control panel” inChapter 2.Make sure that the interface cable is securely con-nected to both the printer and the computer. See thesection “Connecting the printer to your computer” inChapter 2.If the Fault indicator is lit, load the paper. See theChapter 3, “Paper Handling”.Run the printer printing test. If the printing test exe-cutes normally, the problem is being caused by theinterface, the computer, incorrect printer settings, orincorrect software settings. See the section “PrintingTest” in Chapter 5.Make sure that the printer protocol selected in yoursoftware is the same as the protocol selected on theprinter. See the section “Connecting the printer toyour computer” in Chapter 2.If you are using an serial interface, make sure thatthe serial settings required by your software or com-puter are the same as the settings on the printer.See the section “Changing Install Options” inChapter 5.
