Printing4-6Changing the ProtocolWhen you first turn the printer on, the active protocol depends on what port will beused for printing.z For Macro 1: If you use the serial port, the active protocol will be the DEC pro-tocol.If you use the parallel port, the active protocol will be the Epsonprotocol.If you use the USB port, the active protocol will be the Epson pro-tocol.z For Macro 2: If you use the serial port, the active protocol will be the DEC pro-tocol.If you use the parallel port, the active protocol will be the IBM pro-tocol.If you use the USB port, the active protocol will be the IBM proto-col.This printer has three protocols and allows you to set the protocol mode in one of thefollowing three ways: the printer engages one of the three protocols, automaticallydetermines the active protocol, or assigns different protocols for parallel, serial orUSB interfaces.To change the protocol: Repeatedly press the Protocol button.
